When I started college I was more concerned about being left behind by my best friend than I was about being any kind a leader. In some ways, I felt like I barely graduated high school. I was a first-generation community college student that knew nothing about the college experience or where I was supposed to end up.
Since then, I've started two nonprofit organizations focused on social justice, leadership, and equity; obtained a graduate degree; became a Tedx speaker and received numerous awards and recognition, including a 40 Under 40 Business and Community Leader's award. I've traveled to several different countries. Although there were some bumps along the way, my journey as a leader came as a result of being intentional about my purpose and consistent in my leadership approach. |

Self-Directed LeadershipWhen we look at someone else's journey, we only seem to see their highlight reel and not the painful mis-steps it took to get them there. Self-Directed Leadership is about discovering your own path, being proactive, getting the support you need to adapt to an ever-changing world. |
