We're excited that you'll be taking this journey with us.
The Ghana Leadership Retreat will focus on leadership development, building community,  and personal transformation.

The trip will also include opportunities for taking in all of the major cultural attractions in the country (Kwame Nkrumuh Museum, Slave Castles, Kakum Tree Canopys, Ashanti Kingdom, etc.) with opportunities to participate in social and cultural activities.

This being the Year of Return for the African Diaspora in Ghana our curriculum will include discussions around racial identity and intercultural understanding This year marks the 400 year anniversary of the first enslaved Africans arrival in the United States by returning home to Ghana in the year 2019.

We'll also have the opportunity to participate in events related to Panafest, a cultural event held in Ghana every two years to promote and enhance unity, Pan-Africanism, and the development of the continent of Africa itself.

We recognize these kinds of trips with like-minded folks committed to creating change in the world and in themselves, can be powerful experiences. As travel advocates we also hope this trip is the first of many for those of you traveling for the first time and a memorable one for the seasoned travelers among you.

Lavar Thomas has dedicated over 10 years of his life to transformational leadership and self-development. He is the founder of Empower for Greatness, a personal development program. Born in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, New York, Lavar’s desire to help individuals discover their purpose and transform communities has taken him around the world. He helps aspiring leaders, overcome fear, cultivate resilience, and develop habits of success for their personal breakthrough.

She has spent more than 15 years working in the field of nonprofit management and philanthropy.

Dr. Kwesi Ewoodzie is a Ghanaian-American interculturalist, scholar and researcher, and a professional-development facilitator who promotes intercultural understanding through travel and training. He has over 10 years in international education and holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from University of Iowa, focusing on Organization and Culture.
CBB stands for a future where international travel and intercultural understanding is commonplace. We believe that our best hope for a more compassionate and accepting world lies in cross-cultural collaborations.
